The Mission and Roles of the WLA - School Library Media's Section are to:
- promote library services within Wyoming's school libraries;
- promote the profession of librarianship within Wyoming's school libraries;
- promote the continued improvement of Wyoming's school libraries;
- support Wyoming librarians in their professional roles;
- promote the participation of Wyoming's librarians and libraries in regional, national and global library arenas.
